Why should I help Project 16?
Project 16 is a nonprofit organization that supports people in need through love, action and change. If you love to help others, why not support the cause?
Does Project 16 donate to countries other than the United States and Jamaica?
Not yet! Project 16 current campaigns are in Jamaica and the United States. We are not limited to helping other countries. If you have any suggestions please contact us.
How do I know Project 16 is not a scam?
NO! Project 16 is not a scam. You can look us up on irs.gov.
What percent of monetary gifts goes to the cause?
85% of all funds will automatically go to the cause. The cause is supporting the current campaigns and the logistics of delivering collected items.
Can I send my tangible donations directly to the organization and not through Project 16?
Maybe! It is best to send tangible donations directly to Project 16. Unless you already have logistics in place in Jamaica, shipping and receiving can become a hassle for both parties. Project 16 will collect all tangible items and distribute to organizations in person, ensuring that each organization receives the needed resources.
Is my contribution tax deductible?
Yes! Project 16 is a nonprofit organization and all contributions are tax deductible. Every donation will receive a receipt to have on file for tax purposes.
Why should I care about Jamaica if I've never been there to visit?
Jamaica's economy has an increase in poverty, violent crime, and unemployment. Some people are forced to accept low paying jobs or become homeless which has an impact on obtaining resources for educational or basic needs.
Can I donate monthly?
Yes! Anyone can donate monthly by becoming a member to Project 16. You can then create your account and set-up automatic monthly donations.
How can I support Project 16 if I don't have any money?
If anyone is not able to support Project 16 through monetary or tangible donations, please spread the word about our cause and current campaigns through word of mouth and social media.
